The spectators help make the contest fun. Pat and I enjoy talking to different people and answering their questions.
I have metal oil pans sitting under my WSMs. The question gets asked 2 or 3 times a contest is, "What are the metal sheets for?" They just protect the ground. I don't want to burn the ground just in case.
We'll probably cook Arthur next year. You are welcome to come and join us any time to see, or should I say feel, what a contest is like from the inside. Besides, I might put you to work _________________ PCMCIA - People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms. – Unknown |

be careful I just might be your competition next year. But I would love to get a feel of the competition. My wife is having me go through another forum and showing her different catering rigs and surprisingly said the prices weren't that bad. So who knows what 2 years will bring. She wants the truck paid off first, which I can't blame her. |

In about 2 years we are planning on selling everything. The house, furniture, my hunting and reloading stuff, etc and buying a 5th wheel toy hauler (or mobile home type) trailer and hit the road. Do a BBQ contest when we feel like it. Go South for the winter and North for the summer.
Yep, we're going to retire (if we can afford it). The economy should pick up by then. We are doing a lot of pros / cons about the trailer and what we're putting in it. etc.
An old friend of mine kinda retired several years ago. He got a Winnie and toured the senior citizen type camp grounds. He makes a few bucks cooking up a BBQ storm making dinner for the people there. He said it helps pay for gas and he enjoys cooking anyway.
It sounds like a great way to enjoy my last years. Travel, cooking and eating . _________________ PCMCIA - People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms. – Unknown |
