I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. My name is Jeremy and I am from Sterling Illinois. I got bit by the BBQ bug when I lived in Kansas City while working as a Tennis Pro. I have since moved back home to Illinois and after a few tennis injurys I had to give it up and I now work for the local Steel Mill.
I have done a few small contest and done well. I won 4 out of the first 5 rib contest that I entered. I did the Illinois State contest last year in Shannon and did okay. I did average in Ribs and Pulled Pork, but kind of Bombed in Chicken and Brisket. I did not get dead last in either but they did not turn out as good as I can get them. The highlight was my 12th place finish in Sausage and less the half a point from being in the top 10.
I also did the Hog days contest in Kewanee. We placed in all three entrys. We had a 2nd in ribs, 3rd in pork, and 2nd in the anything but.
I forgot to say that I cook under the team name NOT QUITE YET BBQ.
I hope to learn a few things from you guys like how to cook chicken and brisket I also will try and chime in and help with any questions I can.
