My favorite steak marinade, I call it, The Stuff!
Half cup of soy sauce
Half cup of Balsamic vinegar
tablespoon of brown sugar
tablespoon of garlic powder
tablespoon of ground black pepper
tablespoon of dried mustard
teaspoon of dried cayenne pepper
Rub the steaks down with a halved kiwi as this is very acidic and can turn a rougher steak into the tenderest of ribeyes if the juice is allowed to soak into the meat for about 2 hours (more then 3 and you start getting mushy steak). Wash off any pulp before cooking, kiwi is pretty bitter but the sugar should cut it nicely.
Place steak and marinade in a ziplock, remove air from bag and make sure meat is well coated before sticking in the fridge for 2-3 hours before putting it to the fire. |
