Geez, PsiGen, I can see you don't like him that much. It's the Sorcerer's Stone, not Philosopher.

| Actually it's both. The english book is "The Socerer's Stone" and the american version is "The Phyilosopher's stone" |

Okay, made a find and had to share. I found a wonderful thick book with good plot from great writers! Tiger Burning Bright, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Andre Norton, and Mercedes Lackey
I'm currently on the 414th page and loving it. |

I'm currently reading The Picture of Dorian Gray and it's corrupting my mind, lol. It's a really good book for those who believe in the idea of art for art's sake. It also talks about the corruption of the human soul, juxtaposed to the decaying human flesh.
For those who have watched League of Extraordinary Gentlemen you should remember Gray as the handsome, curly hair man with a fancy hat and an affair with Mrs. Dracula. In the movie he couldn't look at his picture because he would die, but in the book (well at least up to the page I was able to read), he had looked at the picture a couple of times already, and even compared the rotting portrait of him to the ever-youthful self he has as a result of selling his soul.
It's disturbing people. You should read it. 
(Lol, if anyone didn't notice, my original post actually said Mr. Dracula instead of Mrs., so it's like saying that Dorian Gray and Dracula are gay... *bangs head on wall* I edited it out.) |

I actualy plan on reading it, as soon as i get my hands on a copy. It sounds interesting.
In the meantime i've read "Olivia Joules and the hiperactive imagination" It's a really fun book to read, not very serious, but you can identify with the main character a lot. It's funny, but it also has a lot of suspense. |

Hi everyone,
While preparing an English exam I found a great introductory book into African culture. It's called Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, one of the greatest African writers [Nigerian]. It's what I call an economic book, that is, a lot of message and content expressed through few words. Makes a great Sunday reading. |

| We actually discussed Things Fall Apart for our Asian, African and Latin American Literature elective back in college, but unfortunately I didn't get the chance to really read it. *mumbles something about lack of time and heavy school load* But I still do plan on reading it... hopefully after finishing off the six books I bought from the last book fair I've been. *shakes head and laughs eerily* |

For al the tech-fans around, I've just started a good book called Peer-to-Peer; Harnessing the Power of Disruptive Technologies. Its chapters are written by people from Napster, Freenet, Gnutella, Popular Power and the like, who explore the possibilities and future of P2P technologies. It makes for an informative reading, although some pages on Napster are a little out of date.

I’m currently reading State of War by Ninotchka Roska. It’s actually a novel centralized on Philippine history, but it’s actually very well-written, so if anyone can get a copy of it somewhere I suggest try reading it. Really interesting.
I’ve also reread The Little Prince for the nth time, and I’m still loving every part of it. Sniff. Ah, to be a child once again. Heck, I haven’t really stopped being a child. Leaving childhood behind would mean forgetting about the beautiful magic of life. I don’t want that. Lol. |

| It's scary isn't it? Loosing al that hapiness that imagination and the ability to believe evrythng will turn out alright. I don't particulary care for The Little Prince but i've alawys loved 'kids storie' like my parents and most of my friends consider them (Mutant X, Harry Poter, Marry Popins, anything sci-fi/fantasy). I believe that people who can not enjoy those stories have lost their inner child. |
