Coming Back To Mutant X
I had just come back from an assignment when I was called into the meeting room. There sat the council, all looking at me. I hated when they did that, what I hated more was that they were making me go back to Mutant X. No not that again but this was new...Adam Kane was said to be dead. I couldnt help but smile just a little about that since he had cause more hurt that just added to years of many. This had better not hinder me finding Leo. He's more important than whatever mess Adam got himself into this time.
When I first got there I went in undetected like I figured I wouldn. I watched this....team as they mourned one of their own. I didnt care too much. I didnt know this person so I wasn unfazed. I made my presense known and was fairly impressed by this Jesse's ability to figure out my power quicker than the others. Now Brennan's attitude annoyed me more than anything to put it...nicely. He was arrogant and thought he ran things but I knew he was more hurt by Adam's infamous secret keeping. I knew how they all felt because Adam had done the same thing but it was time to move on past that. There were more things important than a dead man's secret keeping, quite few which I knew myself since coming to the Dominion.
Their teamwork was impressive but not following the plan was a set back and very irritating. I hope they learn fast to follow the rules of how things need to be done or Mutant X was going to be dealth with. Even I hoped that it wouldnt, knowing that already they had their perks that could help me in this. I prayed Leo was all right...wherever he was right now. Long ago I vowed to find him and protect him, I intend to keep it. |

Can I Really Trust Them?
I got a lead!! Finally after so long I found someone from a while back who knows where Leo is! I came so close but something happened. I'm not sure what but whatever it was was painful and everything was spinning, making me loose control of my powers. Then everything went black. Afterwards I was up at Dr. Marcus' lab, saying I was stable. Something was wrong and I knew it from Jesse and the doctors faces but eventually I brushed it off.
Shalimar and I ended up at a prison to look for some doctor that was the creator of DXL. Sometimes I would shake and have these convulsions but I didnt know why. Finally Shalimar confessed, telling me that I was dying and had known it, all of them. How dare she keep that from me! Why did she? Why did they? Did she want me dead or something? No she said it was to keep me in the game. This was my life and health on the line and they thought it was better not to tell me? Now I know why I dont trust people. Traitors, all of them
I abandoned Mutant X to get the cure but I was double crossed. I found out I died, how nice. Jesse risked his life to save me and it made me actually rethink about the teams intentions. Maybe they could be trusted more than I thought but I wouldnt let them know about that or let my guard down so quickly, not again. |

Messing With Nature
Some loud alarm was blaring and it was sounding throught the whole places. My ears were still ringing by the time Jesse turned it off. I got a call on my cell phone from the Dominion saying Arrigo was working at Fort Perry and we were to go check it out. During the flight Shalimar noticed that there was heavy military activity and we knew we were not getting in easy so I made a phone call to pull a few strings. This would take a while and in the mean time Jesse tried to get us information as well as access into whatever was going on. I knew it wasnt going to work and this Major quit being being his arrogant self when he was ordered to let us in. I couldnt help but grin, mostly inwardly, at this. We were told about this parasite and he transmission which made my stomach churn. This seemed worse and worse by the minute, especially with a high tech forcefield that emitted high voltages if you so much as touched it. Walking in you could see crashed vehicles and bodies lying around. What the hell was going on? Gene reasearch didnt seem like the answer, well not completely. It looked like a war had gone on here.
It wasnt long before we ran into them, their red flesh and as Shalimar said, rotting infected flesh. Ahead was a wounded soldier running from the infected. Brennan and I took care of them then ran into the building Arrigo was supposedly in. Inside it was dark and quiet...for now. They were catching onto us though. A few bodies were on the ground as we hurried through the corridoors and there we were being followed by the infected, banging on the door we caught Arrigos attention. He let us in and were securely in the lab. I dont know about the others but it was a relief to feel more safe from being infected by those...things. Plasmodiums is what they are called, something Arrigo engineered to take over their host. Gross. And this was supposed to be used for warefare to help conquer enemies or whatever? That's sick.
Brennan and Shalimar just left to help the woman the sodlier was trying to get insulin for. He's infected from scratches, hopefully Arrigo can help him. I asked him how this parasite was set loose and he told me it was his assistant but something wasnt right with it. I had Jesse look at it as well while he researched the parasite which has now infected Brennan. This day just gets better and better.
Arrigo tried something but it didnt work until Jesse found that this Plasmodium is related to that of the Malaria causing parasite! Large electrical voltage makes it rupture and cures the infected. Yes!! We did it, now to get everyone...including Brennan. Arrigo told Shalimar what to do and it worked! Next Brennan cured Peter, the soldier who told me that Rachel Arrigo's assisstant was his sister. During all this time Jesse also told me how the parasite really got loose. That sick jerk! He had intentionally infected Rachel as his guinea pig to see if it worked and all he said was that it was a break through for warfare! Willing to infect people to turn the tide in such things was beyond sick! Before I could say too much more he shot me with a tranquilizer. My head began to spin and grew tired and my reaction was slower. Arrigo turned for the gun but Peter got it before him and shot him, saving my life.
Jesse made us head for the exit as plane bombers came closer to bomb the fort. Always cutting close arent we? Showing that the infection was gone we werent shot or blown up and the Major obviously called off the attack. Shalimar's definitely right about one thing. You mess with mother nature she shows what she can really do. Okay look what happened to us; unstable genetics and powers no human has. Science has nothing on nature, defy it and you get results that well...not always good |
