| Lexa didnt say it but she wasnt sure what to think of Marcus at the moment. How did he know what happened? Something was just off or maybe it was the fact that everything had gone to hell in a hand basket? |

"Straight to the point. And please, the food is not drugged." Said Marcus.
"Well, Adam and I have been in close association for many years now, and towards the end he knew that the Dominion were gunning for him. I had hoped very much that his fears were unfounded, but Adam has a bad habit of being right alot of the time." He paused, letting the implications sink in.
"My 'agenda' as you put it, is to keep the Underground going for Adam, until such time as he can be found - to try and relocate as much research and new mutants as possible away from the Dominion's hands. In short my mission is much the same as yours was. Whether you wish to continue, well thats a decision each of you must make for yourselves. Although I will say just one thing."
Again Marcus paused.
"Adam Kane never spoke as highly of anyone else then of you young people. You were more than his life's work. He felt of you as family. Whatever happens next in the future or tomorrow, remember that."
Marcus excused himself and left the room leaving the group behind in stunned silence. |

| Jesse folllowed Marcus with his eyes as the older man left the room. He was suspicious of his sudden appearance, and his seemingly very noble intention to 'help' the team. Or perhaps he was just edgy because of what happened for the past days. After all, he was supposed to be the most trusting person in the group. Or maybe it's because of the way Marcus looked at Lexa. Or perhaps... His stomach growling signaled him to stop thinking and start eating. And eat he did. |

Lexa poked at her food, not sure what to think of everything. This would take a while to let it sink it and sort itself out. Noble honest people were hard to find these days. It was like they got shorter and shorter in supply everyday.
"Well you get the idea,'' Lexa said to Brennan curtly. Her patience had yet to reach full capacity. It was quite short as of right now. |
