Just wanted to introduce myself with flair. Wink I've been a lurker for sometime and I've finally decided to join MXLOS which is practically legendary amonst Mutant X Sites, and I can see why. This is one active Mutant X community which I hope to become a part of.

Anyway about me.I'm Sanctuary and I'm a pessimist by nature, but when it comes to Mutant X I won't accept that such a wonderful show has to end.So being a stubborn person I started the Save Mutant X forums (which anyone can check out by linking my profile if they really want.I'm really not here to advertise , though it does help)

I love watching Mutant X music videos which is almost a hobby really Laughing Except for mutant X I love science fiction and fantasy movies, t.v shows and books.Farscape is another great obsession.I also love every and any kind of art.Sculpting, painting, drawing, photography, jewelry art, oils, digital art, you name it.I do it. Smile

Persistence is an invaluable trait to possess...but the sets are destroys, the props sold, the ownership of the Fireworks library sold, the show itself is still hung up in lawsuits, and everyone who appeared onscreen has moved on to other projects.

It's not going to happen.

[And yes, I tried, I was part of the original petition to save the show, and I am the one who paid for overnight morning air delivery of hard copies of that petition to people in positions to do something about the show when sets still were intact.]

The only future for MX is the development of fanfiction improving upon the original series. Persistence in that endeavor does have a future.

I understand that, but Gilmore girls and family guy fans have tried and succeeded after three year intevals or so I'm told.Besides, we managed to convince them to release the season three dvd set, which was also not going to come out because of the lawsuit.

And I appreciate the efforts of all those who tried.I only wish I knew about Mutant X sooner so I could have helped at that very important time. But no matter what happens, we always some great memories of the show. Smile

Well, good luck.

I'll keep writing stories and develop the material the show never touched.

Well, its not over till its over. Maybe they've junked it for now - but the same happened with Star Trek and last time I checked... well..
Optimisim is a strong point of ours here, plenty to go around.
And even if they DONT bring it back, we can still continue things from our end, virtual seasons and episodes, new generations, new plotlines.

You're only ever as limited as your imagination

Lengendary huh. Now that's cool - here that Ana? We're legendary! Hi-Five!!!

But we're only as good as our community members, MXLOS has been and always will be about you guys. So... as Im so fond of saying...
FANTASTIC! See you in Cyberspace!

Oh.... and just for the record? WELCOME!!

Apples and oranges. Did the original cast and series ever come back? No.

Star Trek began life as a network series in the US from 1966-1969. A few years later it was sold to individual stations for broadcast, i.e., it was syndicated. This is the time when Star Trek gained its legions of fans. These were the years when Gene Roddenberry was going about showing the original Jeffrey Hunter pilot to small audiences. Very small audiences; I know because I was part of one.

But that was in the early 1970s, when cable barely existed and satellite tv was something used by the networks alone. In most cities, tv meant broadcast tv, and except for a handful of cities, that meant no more than 4 broadcast possibilities. People did not have the dozens or hundreds of choices they have now.

Be honest. Mutant X was never a ratings success. In the US, it began as a syndicated series, and was shown at different times in different cities, sometimes in the middle of the night. It came and it went with a lot of people who ordinarily do watch science fiction unaware of it--and with a host of better choices.

Yes, something called Star Trek came back, but it was not the original series. It was politically corect, with a bridge that looked like a lounge, and a crew so unimpressed with the unknown they needed a holodeck to amuse themselves. Yawn. Other incarnations emerged, but none were the original series.

The demand for Mutant X isn't there in the numbers to justifiy it going back into prodcution. Television does not exist to amuse fans; it is a business and exists to make money. MX will not go magically back into production because a handful of fans cannot deal with the reality of actors who have gone on to other things (& some of whom were getting too old-looking anyway), litigation, a confused writing team that could never get their universe straight, and sets that have been in the landfill for years.

25 years ago when the original (and deeply dreadful) Battlestar Galactica was cancelled,
one of its fans committed suicide, not being able to face life without BG, awful as it was.

Other fandoms stay alive expanding their universes in prose. On screen MX does not have to come back for that universe to live. Optimism is nice, but I don't think optimism is operating here.

Just curious.

Where would these efforts at revival be directed?
