Everyone thought she was dead. And for a while, she really was.

“Welcome back, Emma,” he said, offering his hand.
“Adam?” she asked, confused. She reached out her hand and allowed him to help her sit down. “I thought... am I not...?”
“Yes, you were,” Adam answered, sitting beside her. “But you’re back now, Emma, you’re back.”

“What now?” Jesse asked as they entered the dingy shelter that will be their temporary home.
“What do you mean ‘what now?'” Brennan almost hissed. “First, we find Adam, then we can start asking stupid questions like ‘what now.’”

“It’s time to take a stand. Time to let the world know who the superior race is. Time to rule over the planet,” Peter ended his speech in time for the applause of the multitude of new recruits for The Arch. Behind him smiled Sabrina, knowing full well that behind that inspiring speech lie an ulterior motive. Things will get interesting soon.

| Adam was pleased it had worked. Pleased and very very amazed. Of course he couldnt be 100% certain there wouldnt be complications later, but for now Emma was back. Anything else that came later would be added bonus. |

Emma took a slow glance around. The lab they were in was somewhat familiar, yet there were minor differences in details, like the bio bed’s color, the position of the computers, the door…
“Sanctuary,” she whispered quietly, when she suddenly remembered something. “Adam! The others! Where are they?” |

| David stood off to the side. Almost in the crowd but close enough so that you could tell that he was not part of the initiation or the new recruits. He was looking at Peter, Sabrina was right behind him. Reading Peter was harder than reading anyone else since he too was a telepath. He could notice if some one was reading him so David had to be careful. David was a stronger telepath than Peter since David's primary and only mutation so far was telepathy while Peter was also an elemental. Peter was keeping his mental shields up but there was Sabrina, a fire elemental. Unpredictable, uncontrollable, her thoughts like the fire she held inside, easy to read. She wouldn’t even notice. He had been scanning the minds of his teammates for a while. Peter was the hardest to read. Not much could be taken from him. Sabrina was easy. As for the rest of the team, they where loyal to Peter and what they though he was about. Sabrina on the other hand, held useful information of the truth. But David needed more. The one he did have trouble reading was Melody. A telecyber. All her thoughts were encrypted. David had to learn computer language to even try to decode what her thoughts where. He finally gave up on her. He scanned the crowd. All loyal to the babble that Peter was putting forth. David raised his mental walls and shields and kept faking that he was enjoying the recruitment. He will pry for more information later. |

| Fear gripped Emma's heart as she waited for her mentor to answer her inquiry. Deep down she knew something was wrong, and although she had been clinically dead for about a year she could still easily read the scientist's mind and deduce that something was out of place. The fact that she wasn't able to use her gift for that long didn't affect her ability to sense trouble. "Adam," she asked, firmer this time. "Where are Jesse and the others?" Of course she had to make special mention of him, he was the closest friend she had the group, right? |

| Peter gave a small smile. "Now, are there any suggestions of who we should recruit to help us other than the ones we already have?" He asked, glancing around to his 'loyal subjects'. "David, right..? Any suggestions?" He asked spotting David in the crowd. |

Melodie thought about it but couldnt come up with anything yet. She had people in mind but of course they wouldnt convert. The thing they did have was a very long list of names of mutants.
"I have an idea if you wanna listen to it," Melodie said enigmatically, inwardly smiling at her plan. |

| David looked around. Scanning, reading for any signs of leadership or something that could be useful. "We seem to already have the brains for the task. What we need now is the muscle to accomplish it. The problem, more than half the new mutants here are inexperienced and we don’t have time to train them or do we? If we do then I do have a few I can pick out. If there is no training time, then the whole lot is useless. Too many lives at stake. I'm not one to send mindless drones out to the battle field to die." Turning to the recruits... "No disrespect to any of you. Just looking out for you. *An annoying though came to his mind from a young mutant* Fire elemental in the corner, don’t give me that crap, I can think of a 1001 ways you can get killed with out you even noticing. Oh and thanks to the feral brunette in the back for the nice thoughts" His final words with a wink to the brunette before he turned around and walked closer to where Peter and Sabrina stood. |

Emma couldn't help but smile at Adam's comment. It appeared he trusted her enough to test her powers in order to find the others, even when she hasn't use them for about a year. "Okay, if you say so," she answered, cocking a smile. "Just don't blame me if I'm still a little rusty."
Sighing she closed her eyes, not sure where to start. She thought it would have been better if she rested for a while first, but she was dying to find out the others' whereabouts. Dying. How ironic. As if she didn't have too much of that already.
Opening her eyes once more she directed her glance to her mentor. "So, what do I have to do?" |
