| Brennan dropped from school, Brennan's got a knack for fine literature. These both positions don't seem to go well together, but they could be possible. Brennan could have left school out of very serious problems, and taught himself reading fine literature. It's possible, but shouldn't he, after all reading, be able to achieve some highschool diploma on the basis of that? It is not likely that you have a preference for heavy books but are unable to re-tell their content. |

I don't really see any inconsistencies. Maybe a good teacher just atracted him him to literature. We can't say really say when he dropped out, so reading fine literature wouldn't be so unexpected. I mean if he left school when he was 15 it could have worked.
As for the high school diploma, he didn't really need it. He was a thief, it's not the first thing your "employers" look at when they ask you for your resume. Obviously it doesn't make it right either.
But sometimes you can get a better general culture on your own time rather than from what you learn at school. (Not that Brennan really showed he had such a culture - besides the reading part.) |

Well I don’t know much about American culture, but I think I know enough of my own culture to say that, well, fine literature and hotwiring cool cars don’t usually mix. Ah, but maybe I look at the world from a very pessimistic point-of-view. Perhaps there would be a selected batch of criminals who do appreciate a little poetry once in a while, but generally speaking, low-level bandits rarely do that. Those who do prefer fine literature over pin-ups of sexy girls shouldn’t be categorized as the same level as most regular bandits in the metro. They’re usually the creepy/scary/disturbing serial killers we often see in thriller/suspense/mystery movies. Ah, but yeah, realities like these get romanticized in Hollywood.
Er, what was my point again? Oh. Brennan and Walt Whitman. Okay, so maybe Brennan wasn’t an ordinary, low-level thief. And maybe he got his interest in literature from some unknown source back in the good ol’ days when he wasn’t hotwiring cool cars yet. It’s possible. But as for the culture thing, I dunno. I can’t put my finger into it, but something just appeared off. I’m not saying that Brennan is un-cultured. I’m just saying that… oh what was I saying? Well, we see how he talks in the show. Plain language, rarely any valuable content. He can be smartass at times, witty even, but it ends there. No sign of good breeding.
Oh, I forgot. He’s a thief. Must have picked up that language while on the streets. Hmm. |

They do not mix here, either. We're supposed to believe that in between stealing cars Brennan stole glances at Shakespeare. This is such a ridiculous characterization that it can be taken as an insult to the credulity of fans. In other words, the people who made the series were laughing at all the 13 year old girls swooning over "hot", poetry-reading Brennan. Kids, you have been had.
Brennan, like most criminals of his type, pretty much stopped school at the age of 10 and lived on the street. People like this can barely read billboards and traffic signs. |

| Well it's a tough thing to discuss about...But Brennan had made some school...Actually he was at highschool too...So that proves that he is not so out of school like others concider him.. |

Canon says he dropped school at 12 or 14. In Germany, you have to stay at school at least for 9 years to receive the very basic highschool degree. |

Face it. Brennan is an ignorant criminal. Canon says he lived on the street from the age of 10. He was looking at the pictures in that book of poetry. Street criminals are mannered and literate only on tv. |

Ok, i'm confused. (which happens often) How is a thief not a criminal? And in Brennan's case, He didn't HAVE to steal. He could have gotten a job somewhere. Sorry, that was off topic. Um, him and school? He didn't have a wide range in his vocabulary(sp?), He did like to read, but only poetry it seems (which we all know made him think of other things not just the poetry itself. ) He might be good looking, But that doesn't mean he was smart. All this to say, i know guys who are IN school and still act the way he did. So, he might have gone...or maybe he didn't. To me, this just wasn't one of those things that i thought about when i watched the show. |

| I think Dark means that he never killed anyone. In romanian "crima" means "murder", in english "crime" is used for anything that breaks the law. |
