We know there was a child with powers like Ashlocke. And we know he slept around. ALOT. So who's to say there isnt a miniature Gabriel Ashlocke out there named for his father and out for revenge.
Gabriel's mutation was dominent enough to be passed on genetically... then of course theres always cloning. I wouldn't put it past a certain Harrison to have maybe taken some skin cells along the way whilst Gabriel was in stasis.
Gabriel DID die in Sanctuary - theres no escaping that fact. Lets face it he went out with a bang... literally.
But as for the legacy being ended there..... only time will tell.
