Well I have to say I don't think writing romance is really Jo's forte...luckily though she's brilliant at writing mystery and plot twists which really saves this book.
*SPOILER WARNING*
Ginny-Sue! I don't why Ginny is all of a sudden, so beautiful, popular, and talented and perfect! Even the Slytherins comment on it! But the thing is she's actually quite mean especially to Fleur but none of other characters even seem to realise that.
I've really felt either about her until Order of the Phoenix, where I was so glad she got over Harry. But in actuality she never got him, and was using Michael and especially Dean to make Harry jealous. It's just such a step backward to the character!
Another thing I didn't like is the lack of Luna and Neville (in particular), they just faded in the background in this book after their prominence in Order of the Phoenix. Hopefully they will follow the Sirius pattern and play a decent part in the final book.
But I did love getting to know Tom Riddle’s past, about his parents especially. And a character death was fairly shocking, even if I did suspect who was going to die. |

*SPOILER WARNING*
JKR has been hinting at Ginny/Harry since he first book. But i don't like the pairing. Ginny was popular in Phoenix too, i believe she switched a few boyfriends then aswell. Although she is a bit a mary-sueish. But i think JKR is trying to not go overly romantic because the bok is adressed to kids, and they have to understand it too. I did like the way she wrote Ron/Hermione though, good pairing.
I disliked the lack of Tonks mostly. Actually of the funny pink-haired Tonks. And honestly i would have liked Tonks/Sirius rather than Tonks/Lupin. Because then she and Harry would have shared aconnection. A nice scene with both of them talking about sirious, a alk taht would help them get over his death and make them stop blaiming themselves.
Dumbledore's death was indeed shoking. Especially in the fact that Snape killed him!!! The man he trusted so much. How can someone so smart be so blind. But somehow i think Dumbledore knew he was gonna die. Maybe from Trelawney's waky but yet acurate predictions. And i think he was prepared to die, and that's why he had told everything to Harry. In a sense Harry lerant everything he could from Dumbledore. |

Awww.. Dumbledore died... why... why couldnt it have been Harry instead. Saved us all from sequels.
Still - even though my views on Harry Pothead.. er Potty... er Potter! are well known - I do like something thats well written.
And yes, I watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azebekan or wherever it is... and all I can say is this...
Raxachoricalphalipitorus!

A week? I read it in like a day and half.
The movie comes out october/november. I can't wait! Hopefully it will be better than the other films. |

Well if you feel any better Nikki, chances are Harry will die in the next book.
I'm really looking forward to the 5th film, I wanna see who they cast as Luna Lovegood (she's my favourite). I'm worried they might cut her out of movie though just to make it shorter
*SPOILER WARNING*
I don't like the H/G pairing either, it's too obvious for my liking (oedipus complex ) although I feel the same way about R/H, they work better as a couple. I didn't see Ginny as very popular in OOTP just more outgoing (Michael was her b/f and she "chose" Dean) but I suppose because the books are from Harry's point of view, he never really noticed her until now. Which another thing I don't like about their relationship but I won't go on!
I missed Tonks as well, the fun spark she was in OOTP. Even though there were already people shipping them together before HPB came out, I never really saw it coming. Personally I ship her with Charlie Weasley, I don't why, it's just seems they would make a really fun couple. I wouldn't mind Tonks/Lupin so much, but it just seems to drain all the fun out of her, she was so mopey and sad.
As much I as I was prepared for Dumbledore's death, I was not prepared for Snape to be the one to kill him! But I loved the way the whole thing was set up, especially the way it showed more depth to Draco. |

I don't think Harry will die. The profecy says that "neither ca live while the other survives" so if Harry dies Voldermort will be unstopable. One has to live and one has to die.
*spiler warning*
I don't mind Tonks/Lupin but i liked Tonks/Sirius better. I hope they don't close down Hogwarts. And Harry has to go back. I think Dumbledore, Sirius, James & Lilly would have have wanted Harry to finish his studies and take his NEWTs. |

What's an E.L.E?
I doubt JKR will kill Harry. |

| I've always been 50/50 on Harry dying, while I think Voldemort will be defeated it doesn't necessarily mean Harry won't die. Rather like King Arthur while defeating Mordred, was fatally wounded in the process. And I’m not talking his death in his final year either, there’s the epilogue that JK has apparently already finished. Who knows he might die in the final chapter at 150 plus, a great-great-grandfather. Also if Harry dies, it’s a definite ending to series, reasonable fans can’t pressure for another sequel. |
