I guess what I dislike about Jesse/Lexa is right before the season three even began, I read an article that the producers/writer were going to heat things up between Jesse and the new girl. And from that point on I couldn't help but see their relationship as being slightly forced.
I suppose you might be able to say the same thing about Brennan/Shalimar. While I don't ship them personally, their relationship had a lot more time to progress. It's the subtlety about Jesse/Emma, that I enjoy the most. It's the little hints, the looks and glances, their ease around each other.
Then there's an old writing rule, to show, not to tell. And I can't help but feel that Jesse/Emma was shown as opposed to Jesse/Lexa being told. |

True love takes time to develop, whether in real life or in TV shows. What is so endearing about Jesse and Emma's relationship is the fact that they were given time to really know each other, to see the depth of the other person's soul. It wasn't mere sexual attraction, not that I'm saying that is all there is between Jess and Lexa, but everyone saw how their simple camaderie bloomed into a beautiful friendship which would have eventually developed into something more had not Emma died.
Something about Jesse and Lexa's relationship just seem so... off, as if it was forced, or plotted from the beginning. It's disturbing that way, love not being given the chance to work its ways into their hearts because of time constraints. Perhaps that's a reason why a lot of people favor Emma over Lexa for Jesse.
And this comes from a Brennan/Emma shipper. Lol. |

Best friends end up being lovers all the time and that was how Jesse and Emma where but he didnt seem as interested with her as he was with Lexa. I think he liked her more than Emma but I get Joshy's point very well  |

I would have to say Jesse would of been better off with Emma. All Lexa did was play with Jesse's emotions. I"m a big supporter of Jesse/Emma too.  |

emma and jesse were just good freinds nothing more
but lexa and jesse are made 4 each other they have chemistry whilst emma and jesse didnt.
i dont see how u guys can think there was some thing between emma and jesse they were nothing more that friends that is it and of stroy.
but lexa and jesse are made 4 each other they both get jeolous if the other one is with someone who they find physicly attractive. there relationship wasent rushed they realised they were soulmates. |

Well maybe Jesse did feel something more with Lexa than with Emma (lol, I wouldn't know for sure so I'll take Ulan's word for it, lol) but I would have to disagree with the claim that Jesse and Emma didn't have chemistry. I think almost everyone here would (should? Lol) agree that they had chemistry, even before the time that Emma was always with Brennan and Jesse was always with Shal. The characters clicked, the actors definitely made the viewers feel that the two look and feel good together.
One more thing, jealousy isn't always a sign that you love the person. Sometimes it just means that you feel insecure about your self.
(Lol, why do I even bother defending the pair? I'm not even a shipper, lol) |
