It was you
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Author’s note: I know your probably sick of reading my stories-especially since they are Emma based, but for all you Jesse and Emma shippers this is for you. I do not own any of the characters. Enjoy
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The rain, although often irritating, had a mellowness to it that only now could he fully understand.
It was pouring outside, but that didn’t stop him from going where he needed to be. Even the occasional lightning bolt didn’t cower him away from going to the one and only place he can be free and just talk about anything-even silly-and know that she would understand no matter what .
He approached the stone wall and gracefully ran his hands over her name, treasuring each and every letter before placing a bouquet of white roses under her name. There were two other bouquets of flowers already there. Tiger Lilies from Shalimar and Daisy’s from Brennan. But only he knew white roses were her favorite because she had told him once.
He grabbed her com-ring that was nestled on a jagged piece of rock that stuck out of her ‘tombstone’. He found it kind of funny that her ring was sheltered from the rain. He remembered her saying to him a long time ago that she grew up in Seattle, which was the capital for rain. She said she loved and hated the rain at the same time. She loved after it rained because there usually was a nice rainbow in the sky, and she loved rainbows. She hated the rain, because the sky was so grey making everyone feel depressed, which she end up feeling. If it was up to her, she would only make it rain once a year, so at least she could see one rainbow.
Jesse would have been sad to report to her that it had rained heavy about ten times this year-today being the eleventh.
He walked over to a flat rock that was facing her name and sat down. Mount. Storm King was no doubt beautiful, but it didn’t provide that much protection from the rain when outdoors. But today he didn’t mind.
“It’s me again,” Jesse said out loud, over the sound of the pitter patter of the rain. “I don’t really know what to say-to be honest, I don’t even know what I’m doing out here. It’s freezing and I’m soaked-so that doesn’t help much.” He paused and looked at the wall. Hoping he would get a witty remark from the late telempath.
“Aren’t you going to comment on how foolish I was to come out here? On how I am greatening the odds on getting hypothermia or pneumonia?”
The only response was the rain hitting the ground. Then, without warning, Jesse just started to cry and he couldn’t stop. He wanted to stop though, he tried to stop-but he couldn’t, and after twenty minutes of straight crying it ended.
And he felt so much better.
He looked at the stone wall again, her name, ‘Emma DeLauro’ etched in it so perfectly.
“It was you,” He laughed. “All along it was you.” He wasn’t just talking about crying on the spot. He was talking about everything in general, that only now made sense to him.
“I want to tell you something, Emma. And I know this may sound ridiculous to you but I love you. I had you and then I lost you. I wanted to tell you so many times before that I loved you …” He paused, then continued, “but then again, I guess you always felt it. The love I felt for you-the love everyone felt for you. I’d give anything to tell you that to your face.” He took her com-ring and gently kissed it before placing it back on the ledge. “I hope you know that. Because I truly believe we will meet again someday. And when that day comes, I know we will be together again.”

The strangest thing happened as Jesse began walking back to Sanctuary. The sun had started to come up from behind the hills of the mountain, and although it was still raining, a distinct rainbow could be made out, gracing the mountain.
Jesse stopped and smiled to himself.

After all. It was you.
