There are so many definitions and meanings of a best friend and sister but there is only one word that I have for it and that is Autumn. When I was nine I met her and it was an instant click. All my life I had been the shy little girl that would hide and never talk. She changed that in me to be more bold.
I never had a sister and she had just lost hers so both of us were depressed kids, me not having many friends I could rely on and her, loosing a sister that was only a few days old. I think that helped us to connect.
Through the years we grew up together, never fighting, always being there for each other, telling our deepest secrets, desires and fantasies. We were so different yet so alike it was weird but that never kept us from being close to each other. We always defended each other no matter what it was and stuck up for one another.
Both of us took karate and we were attatched to the hip, always working together. She was blonde, I wasnt yet people always managed to mix us up and were one was the other was always around. We were called twins, or partners in crime. We could finish each others sentences and think what the other was thinking practically, both being open books to each other. I cant hide anything from her and she cant either.
Shes away at college now and so am I so I dont get to see her often. I dont know what I would do without her if she wasnt in my life. She means so much to me and I think of her as my sister. I have friends that I love and cherish, consider them family but Autumn will always be the closest to me and at the top. |
