| Brennan floored it and made it one minute. He barely avoided a few accidents but he didnt care. His friends life was at stake |

Adam jumped out and ran for a gurney, and some doctors - returning in seconds.
Immediately he and the other doctors started their work, wheeling Jesse away from the others without a word of explanation. |

| Emma rushed out of the car and was beside Jesse in a flash. She was stopped in front of the OR by a nurse, and she could do nothing but wait for Adam and the doctors to work on her friend. Something nagged her in the deepest corner of her mind, something that Jesse tried to say earlier. What was that... tr-... trkn... mhhss..., she thought, trying to decipher the words. Trkn... trackin... tracking... Her eyes lit up in sudden realization and a surge of fear gripped her. “Tracking device!” she all but shouted as she turned to look for Shalimar or Brennan. |

| Emma looked up at Brennan for a second. “I’m a telempath,” she said dryly. “Not a bomb-sniffing dog or a radar detector.” Still she closed her eyes and tried to connect with Jesse, hoping to figure out where the tracking device was. |
