QUOTED FROM SOURCE: BBC.CO.UK
University of Memphis-led team found the previously unknown tomb complete with sarcophagi and five mummies.
The archaeologists have not yet been able to identify them.
But Egypt's chief archaeologist Zahi Hawass says they "might be royals or nobles" moved from "original graves to protect them from grave robbers".
"We don't really know what kind of people are inside but I do believe they look royal. Maybe they are kings or queens or nobles," he told Reuters news agency.

Bob Partridge, of the Ancient Egypt Society, said it could possibly be the tomb of Queen Nefertiti, who co-ruled Egypt between 1379 and 1358 BC. Her tomb has never been found.
"Nefertiti was probably buried to the north of Egypt at a place called Akhetaten," he told BBC News24.
"It's believed that the burials there, which included Nefertiti and some of her daughters, were brought back to the Theban area, and the Valley of the Kings would be the obvious place."
The Valley of the Kings, near the city of Luxor in southern Egypt, was used for burials for around 500 years from 1540BC onwards.
The newly-found tomb is thought to date from the 18th Pharaonic Dynasty, the first dynasty of the New Kingdom which ruled between 1539BC and 1292BC and made its capital in Thebes, now Luxor.
It is the 63rd tomb to be discovered since the valley was first mapped in the 18th century, and was unexpectedly found only five metres away from King Tutankhamun's.
The team of archaeologists had not been looking for it. |

| I was flipping through the channels cause there was nothing to watch and the documentary was just starting. I saw the piramids and was hooked. So I started watching it and couldnt get my eyes off of it. I love egyptology and old civilizations. So anything that has to do with that I'll watch. All those machines too. And that digital x-ray machine. Now thats an advancement. |

It is so amzing they still find undiscovered toombs! And only five meters away?! How didn't they spot it back in 1922?
It's interesting. I can't wait untill they confirm it was queen Nefertiti's toomb! It would be awsome. |

| Actualy her tomb was with her husbands tomb but it was never finished. He was burried in a different place with two other royal line ppl. They say that it was payback from the priests because she fired them all and they hired them back. But they still held grudges. Not sure what the whole deal was. |

Wouldn't it just!
I've recently seen a documentary about the Crystal Skulls, which so intrigued me I had to go out and buy a book on the subject.
Creepy to think they might hold mysterious powers...
The other thing that piques my imagination is the whole Mayan Civilisation disappearing overnight. How did that happen? Nobody seems to know, but everybody has a theory!
Back to the subject of Egyptology though... I have recently read the Ramses series of books called: Son Of Light, The Battle of Kadesh, The Lady of Abu Simbel and Under the Western Acacia, which goes into the history and religion of the Ancient Egyptians in the first person of Ramses. Brilliant!!! I'm gonna go out and buy The Black Pharoah as well! |
