On the bed, the Doctor seemed to sink deeper into a fevered state, muttering incoherantly and in another language, one that the TARDIS did not deign to translate.
Somehow his hand seemed to seek out hers, clutching it like a lifeline.
"Don't... leave me..." He managed, before sinking back once more. |

| Rose stared at Jack for a few moments before her head turned to the Doctor as he suddenly clutched her hand. She leant forward so she was close to him and whispered softly to him. "Shh, I won't leave you, I promise..." |

| Rose swallowed hard, trying to stop herself from falling into a state of panic. She continued to clutch his hand no matter how much he violently shook and lurched; she promised she would let go and nothing was going to stop her. "Jack, come on! Do something!" |

| Rose relaxed slightly, smiling and looking over at Jack. "You, Captain Harkness...are a bloody life saver," she said in a quiet tone before her gaze fell back down on the Doctor once more, feeling relieved. |
